# Open source: the Platform Requirements MCP server

## What is the Invokary Platform Requirements MCP server?

It is a free, read-only MCP server that lets an AI agent look up what Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and the MCP Registry require before they list a connector or plugin. Invokary built it on the same dataset as this site, so every answer comes with its sources and the date we last checked it. It needs no account or key.

## The MCP server

Connect it once and your agent can check a platform's rules while you build, rather than rely on what a model remembers. It speaks the current MCP protocol, 2026-07-28, and still serves clients that use the 2025 handshake.

- **Endpoint**: https://mcp.invokary.com/mcp

No account, key or sign-in.

## Connect it

### Claude

Add a custom connector and paste the endpoint URL.

### Claude Code

*Shell*

```
claude mcp add --transport http platform-requirements https://mcp.invokary.com/mcp
```

### ChatGPT

In developer mode, add an MCP server and paste the endpoint URL.

### Cursor

Add it to .cursor/mcp.json:

*JSON*

```
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "platform-requirements": {
      "url": "https://mcp.invokary.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

### VS Code

Add it to .vscode/mcp.json:

*JSON*

```
{
  "servers": {
    "platform-requirements": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.invokary.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

### Any MCP client

List its tools with the MCP Inspector:

*Shell*

```
npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector --cli https://mcp.invokary.com/mcp --method tools/list
```

## Tools

All six tools only read the dataset bundled with the server: they change nothing and call no other system. Each answer has a text form and a structured form, and both end with the source.

- **list\_platforms**: Lists the platforms in the Platform Requirements dataset (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and the Official MCP Registry): each one's directory, vendor, number of requirements, topics and latest check date. Use it to see what the dataset covers and which ids the other tools take.
- **get\_platform\_requirements**: Returns what one platform requires before it lists an MCP connector or plugin, each requirement with its sources, evidence label and the date it was last checked. Narrow the list to one topic (category) or one product surface. Platforms: claude (Claude), chatgpt (ChatGPT), cursor (Cursor), mcp-registry (MCP Registry), ecosystem (MCP specification).
- **get\_requirement**: Returns one requirement by its id, for example claude.rule-annotations, with its sources and the date it was last checked. For a retired id it returns the retirement date and the requirement that replaced it.
- **compare\_platforms**: Sets the requirements of two or more platforms side by side, grouped by topic, to show where they differ, for example on authentication or on what a submission needs. Leave platforms out to compare all four directories.
- **search\_requirements**: Finds requirements whose text matches keywords or a question, such as "privacy policy", "OAuth" or "test cases", across every platform or within one. Returns up to 10 matches, best first, with their sources and check dates.
- **list\_platform\_changes**: Lists Invokary's dated notes on changes to these platforms' submission rules, most recently updated first, optionally for one platform or updated on or after a date. Each note links to its full text.

## Where the answers come from

The server answers from the Invokary Platform Requirements dataset, the same requirements and change notes as our platform pages. It copies the file from this site once a day, and each answer gives the date the data was last checked. The data is under CC BY 4.0 and the code under the MIT License.

## Privacy

The server has no accounts and sets no cookies. It counts which tools are called and which client applications call them, by the name each one gives. It never records IP addresses, user agents or what you ask.
