Claude portal launch: what changed (Sept 25, 2026)

Anthropic opened a directory submission portal for Claude on September 25, 2026. SaaS teams can now submit an MCP connector or a plugin through the portal and follow its review; a plugin is published once it is approved, and its listing shows how people find it after launch.

What changed

• Two submission paths. Submit an MCP connector as a remote server URL, for the Connectors Directory, or a plugin bundle hosted on GitHub, for the Claude plugin directory.
• Automated checks. Plugin and connector submissions go through automated checks and a safety scan.
• Review status. You see where each submission stands and the changes Anthropic asks for.
• Publish timing (plugins). Once a plugin version passes, you select Publish; by default an Anthropic reviewer then publishes it.
• Analytics (plugins). After launch, plugin publishers see installs by product surface and version, listing views, and the searches that lead to a listing. A listed connector gets a dashboard with server health and usage by tool.

Claude Marketplace launched two days earlier, on September 23, 2026.

Who can submit

The same rules apply to plugins and MCP connectors. Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans can submit; free accounts can't. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner submits, and on Enterprise an Owner can grant the Directory permission to other members.

What it means for SaaS connectors

Being listed is now measurable. For a plugin, the portal shows which searches lead to your listing and which product surfaces install it, so you can measure whether you are chosen, not only whether you are listed.
