Requirements
Submission
Plugins are submitted at cursor.com/marketplace/publish from a public Git repository. Every plugin is manually reviewed before it is listed.
Cursor accepts a root plugin.json (the Agent Plugins standard) or a .cursor-plugin/plugin.json (a Cursor Plugin). Plugin names are lowercase kebab-case.
Review rules
Open-source components must use permissive licenses, such as MIT, BSD or Apache 2.0. GPL, AGPL and LGPL are not allowed.
Distribution
Team marketplaces are available on the Teams plan (one marketplace) and the Enterprise plan (unlimited).
Common rejection risks
A GPL, AGPL or LGPL component
A missing plugin manifest (a root plugin.json or .cursor-plugin/plugin.json), or a plugin name that is not lowercase kebab-case
Already rejected?
How we handle it
- We deliver the Cursor plugin repo under a permissive license.
- The plugin uses the same remote MCP server we build for your other platforms.
- If you sell to teams on Cursor's Teams or Enterprise plans, we scope a team marketplace listing in the Audit.
